The book is not only for the family but for the veteran as well as they try to understand common high risk-taking activities and other actions common among veterans. What makes this book unique is that it is written for the layperson instead of the professional counselor. This fact in itself is what makes it so valuable for veterans and their family. I have received training in PTSD myself understand the great value of the advice and very clear writing style of this book. Downrange to Iraq and Back is highly recommended.
